This course aims to provide a comprehensive overview of key project management concepts underpinning current project management practices and tools. It explores concepts, practices, terms, and definitions presented in the following PMI® Standards and Practice Guides.

• A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide – Sixth Edition), which covers traditional project management practices including processes and process groups.

• A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide – Seventh Edition), which covers principles of project management and project performance domains

• Process Groups: A Practice Guide (2022), which is complementary to the Seventh Edition and covers traditional process groups.

• Agile Practice Guide (2017), which provides an overview of various agile approaches, as well as tools and situational guidelines.

The course consists of 14 online modules. Case studies, quizzes, practical tips and advice provided by experienced project management professionals complement the theory and concepts explained in the course. Downloadable templates allow you to apply your learning immediately on the job.

Learning Outcomes

To qualify for this discount, individuals must meet the following criteria:

• Be a child * or spouse of a full-time McGill University employee; AND
• Be wholly dependent on the employee for financial support; AND
• Be living at the same address as the employee.

* In the case of a child, the dependent must not have reached the age of 25 as of September 1 for activities taking place in the Fall term, January 1 for activities taking place in the Winter term, and May 1 for activities taking place in the Summer term.

Online Project Management Discount Package

Protection of Personal Information

The Act Respecting Access to Information Held by Public Bodies and the Protection of Personal Information.

Personal information is protected by legislation in the Province of Quebec. Personal Information includes, but is not limited to, name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, date of birth, citizenship, McGill ID, program, student status and academic record information. Other persons or organizations can have access to information pertaining to a student’s file only if the student has provided the School of Continuing Studies with written authorization which specifies both to whom information can be given and the type of information which can be released.

Certain information gathered by the University about a student will be released to the following bodies upon their request:

a) the Student Association recognized by McGill University

b) the McGill Alumni Association

c) the school(s) or college(s) which the student attended

d) the appropriate authorities (e.g., affiliated company, group etc.) involved with the external or internal funding of fees

e) the professional bodies or corporations (e.g., engineers, dentists).

f) Chambre de commerce et d’industrie Paris Ile de France (e.g.TEF/TEFaQ results)

g) Regulatory authorities, law enforcement or other persons, as authorized or required by law.
